Does it feel like Your Podcast isn’t growing no matter what you do?

What if you could make a few small changes and see an increase in your listenership?

I’m not talking a huge shift in your content, hiring a team, or putting tons of time and money into ads. Those things CAN help — but only if you already have a good foundation to attract the right listeners to your podcast.

What I’m talking about is the fundamentals. You want someone who comes across to immediately understand:

  1. Who your podcast is for — what audience it serves and how it helps them.
  2. What’s in it for them? They should know what they’ll get from listening.
  3. Why they should listen to your show instead of someone else’s. This is all about establishing your authority as quickly as possible.

After that, you’ll want to get in front of other people…but without spending a ton of money.

That means you need:

  1. Clearer positioning
  2. Better packaging — that is, how you present your podcast to potential listeners
  3. A system for doing podcast swaps

Do these things, and you’ll grow your podcast.

That sounds good but…where do you begin?

I get it. You’ve launched your podcast and have a few episodes under you belt — that’s amazing!

But there’s also a lot you to think about! How do you know what changes you need to make, and the best way to position your podcast for growth?

What if a long time podcaster with a wealth of experience, not to mention a 6-figure podcast, told you exactly what you need to do to get more downloads, and turn your show into a money-maker?

And what if he could do that for you in the next 7 days, without you having to lift a finger? Here’s the story…

Hi, I’m Joe Casabona.

I’m a full-time podcaster and podcast systems coach.

My podcasts:

  • Have made over $300,000 in revenue
  • Bring in $30-50,000 every year
  • Help me land clients, grow my list, and grow my business

And my flagship show ranks in the top 2% of all podcasts.

In 2017 though, my business was about to fail and I was scrambling to find a way to support my new family…and fast.

Using what I learned from my failed 2012 podcast, I took my niche podcast and made a bold move selling my first sponsorship spot for $99. Pre launch.

Not bad considering I pitched my sponsor on a whim.

And I didn’t stop there. Since then, I’ve been experimenting with different strategies and tactics to turn my show into a profitable podcast.

Through lots of trial and error, I created a repeatable model that turns helps business owners leverage their podcasts to generate income — both directly, and indirectly.

Now I want to share my knowledge with you. So you can transform your struggling podcast into a profitable podcast!

My 9-Point Growth Framework

Over the last few years, I’ve been really thinking about how podcasts grow without the help of an algorithm. Podcast episodes, after all, don’t go viral like Tweets or YouTube videos do.

Thanks to my background in web development, I realized that we can employ a similar approach that websites do…search engine optimization, or SEO.

Content in Google and other search engines don’t “go viral,” but they employ tactics to make sure they get found. Things like optimize for specific keywords, position themselves to be accessible across all devices, and have clear calls to action to help their visitors take the right actions.

So I decided to start doing the same thing. Instead of titling my episodes “Episode 187 with Jimmy Jam,” I made sure to make clear what the episode was about, and what the listener would get.

This framework skyrocketed my own show to the top 1% of all podcasts — so that was pretty cool — but what was really cool is when I saw it work for my clients, too:

I got so excited by the repeatable results I got for my first few one-off clients that I decided to create a brand new service to deliver these same results to even more podcasters on a tight budget…

Here’s what it looks like:

  • A review to make sure you’re in all the important podcast directories
  • Check your Title and Tagline to make sure it communicates your show’s value.
  • Read through your Description to make sure the text attracts listeners and convinces them to check out the show
  • Examine your Artwork to make sure it stands out in directories
  • Optimize your “host name” and category
  • Review of Episode titles and descriptions to attract more listeners (and for SEO)
  • Check your Show Notes to make sure they encourage listeners to take action
  • Critique your CTA
  • Critique your Intro
  • Identify & recommend 5 other podcasts for episode swaps

FAQs

This audit doesn’t include a content review, though I will listen to the first 60 seconds as that pertains to the growth of your podcast. If you do want me to audit your content instead, email me joe@casabona.org and we can get that set up.

The audit is completely async — I’ll create a report and and record a video. If you’d like a live call too, you can purchase that at checkout.

I want to make sure you’re completely satisfied, so I’m happy to clear up any questions that fall within the scope of the audit; we should try to limit it to 2-3 follow up emails.

While I’ll make recommendations for how your podcast can make money, I don’t offer any specific guidance. That’s included in the Playbook or Coaching.

I want everyone to be completely satisfied with the audit. That said, if your podcast is currently active and you tried the things I recommended without seeing any growth within 30 days, I’ll give you a full refund within 24 business hours.
